About Alvin Amante, DDS

Presently holding the position of Pediatric Dentist, Alvin Amante, DDS, works at Smilez Pediatric Dental Group. From July 2010 to January 2013, Dr. Amante supervised residents at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health and served as Site Director for the SMILEmobile program. This program, located in Rochester, New York aims to ensure that children in the surrounding area receive much needed dental care. Many of the children do not have regular access to a dentist. The program covers 17 inner-city schools and serves around 3,000 children in the elementary and preschool levels. Alvin Amante, DDS, has also seen this program expand and begin to reach out to communities in outlying areas of New York that have limited access to dental facilities. SMILEmobile also serves Head Start programs.

Alvin Amante, DDS, has a long-standing relationship with the University of Rochester. From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Amante underwent his pediatric dental clinical residency at that institution. Dr. Amante belongs to the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and also participated in a number of community service projects. From 2001 to 2008, he teamed up with New Horizons day shelter, Medical Teams International to bring healthcare to kids living on the streets of Seattle. Alvin Amante’s volunteer dental work also took him to Oaxaca, Mexico, where he and his team provided dental care to communities.
